The Ghosts of Ashbury High by Jaclyn Moriary

The Ghosts of Ashbury High (Ashbury/Brookfield, #4) The Ghosts of Ashbury High

Bestselling author Jaclyn Moriarty returns to Ashbury High for a story of romance, mysterious new classmates, and the terrors of making it through your final year of high school.

This is the story of Amelia and Riley, bad kids from bad Brookfield High who have transferred to Ashbury High for their final year. They've been in love since they were fourteen, they go out dancing every night, and sleep through school all day. And Ashbury can't get enough of them.

Everyone's trying to get their attention; even teachers are dressing differently, trying to make their classes more interesting. Everyone wants to be cooler, tougher, funnier, hoping to be invited into their cool, self-contained world.

Anybody with the last name of Moriarty needs to write fabulous books, or at least be a criminal mastermind. This is the second book of hers I've read - she has a very unique writing style, many different perspectives that can get confusing if you aren't paying attention, but a fun story with a little paranormal twist at the end. iIlike that it's set in australia, and at least some of her characters could be criminal masterminds if they wanted to be - also a great book about friendship, both new and old.
(In the writing of this blog I discovered that this book is the FOURTH in a series! Ack! And the one I read previously is the SECOND! My book OCD is going haywire. Must. Read. Books. In. Order. I guess I know what I need to put on hold at my library first ...)

Mom note: As a mother of readers, I also want to make a note to myself (and others if they care) why I would or would not have my children read this book, because honestly, sometimes I forget. This is a YA book, so everything is within YA strictures. Violence: mild; Profanity: don't remember language, but possible; Sex: some references to off screen events
